Why we suggest your city

Where our guess of your city comes from, what happens if you add it, and how to change it.
We don't ask for your city when you join. Instead, a few seconds after you first land on one of your pages, a small Add your location card may appear, for example "It seems you're in Lagos, Nigeria".
Where the guess comes from
We guess from where your internet connection comes from, or from your device's time zone. We don't keep the guess: it's saved to your profile only if you choose to add it. Privacy Policy
Your choices
- Add to profile saves the city and country to your profile.
- Not quite? Edit lets you correct the city and country first, then Save location.
- Not now (or the ×, or Escape) closes the card. We won't ask again on this browser, and your profile stays as it is.
Why it helps
- Talents: approved shepherds see your city and country on your card in their Talents list, which helps them find people they can help.
- Shepherds: your city is placed on the shepherd map, so talents near you can find you.
Changing it later
Talents can change their country at any time in Settings → Profile. There's no field for your city there yet: if the city on your profile is wrong, choose Report a problem in your account menu, pick My profile and tell us, and we'll put it right. Shepherds change their city in Edit profile.
