Your public profile link

Your profile has its own link, like app.koffeechat.com/talent/your-name-3f9a0c71: your name and 8 random characters, so it's hard to guess. Anyone with the link can open it, without an account. Search engines are asked not to list it.

Sharing it

1. 1Step 1: Open Profile.
2. 2Step 2: In Your public profile link, press Share profile. On a phone your share sheet opens; on a computer the link is copied, ready to paste.

View public page at the top of your Profile shows it exactly as visitors see it.

Choosing what visitors see

What visitors see, next to your profile, has a switch for each part of the page. Your name, headline, career stage and banner always show. Changes save as soon as you flip a switch.

• Your photo (unless you hide it from shepherds)

  Hidden until you switch it on: Your city and country

• About, dream role and education

  Hidden until you switch it on: Experience (where you work)

• Companies you follow or saved, and your industries

  Hidden until you switch it on: Your CV and LinkedIn

• Ratings from shepherds, once there are some

  Hidden until you switch it on: Your growth plan and career ladder

• A hidden part isn't sent to the page at all, so it can't be found in the page's code either.
• If you show your CV, visitors open it in a viewer through a link that lasts 5 minutes. It's named after your first name (like Ada CV.pdf), never your file's own name.
• Ratings show as an average and the qualities shepherds noticed, never who said what. Away from your public page, your ratings show only to you, to shepherds who can find you in Talents or whom you booked, and to the team (owners, admins and recruiters) of an organisation you follow or showed interest in. On the Free plan, an organisation sees ratings only for the people its console shows it.
• Companies whose pages you unlocked with KoffeePoints never show.
• Back to the standard choices puts every switch back to how it started.

Changing your link

1. 1Step 1: Press Customise link.
2. 2Step 2: Type the name you'd like: letters, numbers and hyphens. If it's taken we add a number.
3. 3Step 3: Press Save link. Your old link stops working, and anyone who opens it sees Profile not available.

A few names belong to KoffeeChat pages (like profile, grow or settings), so they can't be used.

• A link that's just your name is easy to guess, so anyone who knows your name could find your page. The random ending of the link you start with makes it hard to guess.
• You can change your link 5 times a day.
• Nobody else can take your old link for 90 days, so copies of it in your CV or in old messages never lead to someone else. You can take it back yourself during that time. We always hold your first link this way, plus the 2 other old links you used the longest; any others are free for anyone again.

Switching it off

Use the switch at the bottom of Your public profile link. While it's off, anyone opening the link sees Profile not available. Switch it back on whenever you like; the link stays the same.

Shepherds and work accounts

If you're a shepherd, your public page is your shepherd booking page, so your talent profile has no link of its own, and your About, banner and education are edited on your shepherd profile. Work accounts don't have a link either. While your shepherd application is waiting for approval, you keep your talent link.
