Hosting an audio call on KoffeeChat (pilot)

We're trying audio calls inside KoffeeChat with a small group of shepherds. If you're in the pilot, your confirmed chats happen right here: no meeting link needed, audio only for now. Want to join the pilot? Email hello@koffeechat.com.

What you see

• Join call on each confirmed chat under Chats → Upcoming, and on Your next coffee on Home, from 10 minutes before the start. Earlier, the chat says when the call opens (for example Opens at 5:50 PM).
• The call page shows the talent's photo and name, whether they're already there, and Test your microphone.
• In the call: who's speaking (a soft green ring round their photo), the time and minutes left, 5 minutes left near the end, Mute and Leave.
• Leave asks first. Leave call leaves just you: you can rejoin while the call is open. End call for everyone ends it for the talent too: they see that the call has ended, and it can't be rejoined. A recording stops when the call ends.
• My notes sits beside the call. Press Maximise to give your notes the whole page while you talk: the timer, the recording, Mute and Leave stay in a bar at the top. Keeping private notes on a chat
• The call closes 15 minutes after the chat's end time. Afterwards you'll see how long it lasted, with Log outcome and Message.
• No need to wait for a booked slot: Start an instant call on Home makes a link that opens a call as soon as someone takes it. Meeting links and instant calls

What the talent sees

When you accept, their email says Join the call on KoffeeChat and the calendar invite points to the call. Their chat shows Join call under Your coffee chats. If you've added a meeting link, it's in the email as a backup, so keep it up to date. Audio calls on KoffeeChat

Good to know

• Calls aren't recorded unless you both agree: either of you can ask, and either of you can stop. Otherwise we keep only when each of you joined and left, and for how long. Recording and summaries
• AI summaries of recorded calls are on unless you switch them off in Settings → Calls. The talent sees your setting before agreeing to record.
• Only you and the person who booked can join from KoffeeChat: nobody else gets into your call, admins included.
• Headphones help. On a phone, keep KoffeeChat open during the call: locking the screen can pause your microphone.
